National picture
Water-supply areas, not county lines.
Water companies manage their supplies in local areas that often cross council and county boundaries. Choose Forecasts to see the areas where a local water forecast is available. Some small independent suppliers and parts of Scotland still lack detailed public boundaries.

We say when we don’t know.
The postcode checker and official restriction map work across England. Local forecasts are available only where we have enough reliable reservoir, groundwater or river data. We label partial coverage clearly and explain what is missing elsewhere.

0Historical reservoir data
Past water levels rebuilt from official reports.
We no longer use the withdrawn UKCEH history. Instead, we rebuild past reservoir levels from Environment Agency reports and combine them with current water-company readings. A forecast is shown only after it performs well against past data. Yorkshire uses its own separately licensed public feed.

Official water-company notices always take priority. Forecasts appear only in the areas their data actually covers.
